As a comparison my current 11 year old Golf TDI (90bhp old tech diesel, no high pressure rail) does its weekly 500 mile commute (70% motorway, 30% town) at an average of 51mpg. I know that if i nudge my typical motorway speed from 75 up to 80, traffic allowing, that the average figure for the week drops to 49mpg.
Hi I have a 57 punto 1.4 t-jet, purchased around 8 months ago and has been in the garage 4 times with an intermittent misfire on cylinder 1. At first the fault codes indicated the coil pack had blown, so they replaced it and it ran fine for a few hundred miles before developing a misfire again.
