The Mountain Bandit Boss is a Tier 5 Bandit infantry unit. You can’t recruit bandit units, but you can acquire them as prisoners when you defeat enemy bandit forces. You can then recruit them into your party after a few days. They have a basic wage of 12 denars. Amazing calvary, great infantry and ranged troops. Best positioned faction in the game. Their well rounded troop tree allows for domination in most battles. Empire. Amazing cavalry and infantry, decent ranged troops. Great overall troop tree, but suffers from war at all sides.

Palantine Guard shoot faster, but do less damage. Sergeants shoot further, do more damage, and have sword and shield, which makes them good in melee, but shoot slower and have only half the ammunition of the Palatine Guard. I usually stock an even number of both, especially for garrisons. My usual garrison strength is 80 Legionaries, 35 K3aaOs.
