I have the same trouble with my window. It's not the motor because it works, intermittently. I can roll the window down whenever/however I want. When I go to roll it back up, that's really a craps shoot how many times I have to hit the switch to get the solenoid to contact. It has to be the switch.
Thanks. finally got around to fixing both switches. there is black residue or dirt btwn that prevents power goin thru the contacts. scrub off with screw driver and clean with alcohol. EZ fix, only took 10 years! This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread.
make sure the glass is closed, kneel on the drivers seat facing the rear of the car. Grab the sunshade with one hand on each side then pull the passenger side more than the drivers side, basically twisting the shade from side to side as you tug it firmly forward. Worked for mine hope it works for yours.
